LAST DAY:

Well, today Friday, January 25 2014, it's my last day in Canberra!
I don't know what to say, words aren’t enough to describe how incredible this trip was to me. It was certainly the most beautiful trip I had done in my entire life! I learned so much about the cities, the people, the cultures, which are so different at LA but so wonderful at the same time.
First at all, I had the possibility to help students to find a way to have a best future. I remember this student, who wanted to be a writer because he loved reading books, he started to write he's own book! But after I talked to him a few many times, he changed completely his mind! He realized that writing was his passion but that he actually wanted to do something who related with the financial world. After talking to him a few times, he thanked me, he told me that I open his mind. I felt so happy for him that I could help!! That was exactly the main reason I made this trip. To feel that what I was doing helped people!
Then, the city: I loved Canberra, it's just amazing! So different from LA. Sydney and Melbourne were even better! I really enjoy lived in Canberra for one year, it was such a great experience for me.
Something that I totally forgot to tell you: I met someone!!! His name is John, an amazing guy who is the director of the French school in Canberra. It has been already six month that I'm with him and the biggest new: He propose me and ask me if I wanted to stay in Australia with him and move to Sydney because he had a job there!! At the second who he proposed me, I called my parents and tell them to came here. Then I called my best friend and said to her to come visit me too because I had something amazing to tell her. They were all nervous because they thought that it was something that they had to worry about.
So, I decided to stay and wait for my parents and my best friend.
This gap year as a volunteer was just an experience unforgettable, I recommend it to everyone.
I could learn things that I never thought I would have been able to.

THANK YOU AUSTRALIA.

Trip Map (Canberra,Sydney, Melbourne) :

Well, I know that is a volunteering trip but I took advantage to visit other cities like Sydney and Melbourne. They both are amazing places!
In Sydney I went to the Opera House and the Royal Botanic Gardens. I also walked around the city, visiting little museums. It was really beautiful, I went to several schools, to do my work and I spoke a little about my life in Los Angeles because the students were really excited to know how everything was in there.
I had such a good relation with them, they were really kind to me and I didn’t want to leave Sydney.
But I had no choice, and I went to Melbourne. I don’t regret it at all! I really enjoyed my little excursion.
I went to the Melbourne Museum, to the Royal Botanic Gardens of Melbourne and I also went to see a match of Cricket!! It was so fun!
In Melbourne I didn't went to schools because I was staying just a few days and I didn’t had enough time.

My first impressions

I was so nervious! I couldn't sleep all night! I was thinking about so many things at the same time: And if I didn't like the city? And if I was not ready to leave? And if...I took a cold shower, ate some bread with jam, and got dressed. Then, my best friend gave me a ride to the airport but before she took me to my parents house to say goodbye.I was leaving for one year! I still can not believe it!When I got to the airport, I was so excited but I was scared at the same time and I was going to miss my family and my friends so much.It was time to leave, luckily there were no turbulences during the flight. I arrived to the capital of Australia, Canberra which is situated in New South Wales.Today is Thusday, February 1st, I finally got off the plane, I did some paperwork, took my bagages and I got out of the airport. It's hotter than in Los Angeles, because it's summer here, I was really excited! I took a taxi, and he drived me to my little house that I rented in the extremities of Canberra.I will start my job as a volunteer next week, I was so impatient to start to talking to classes about career opportunities. I will take advantage of these days to visit the city.
